Our operable pergolas are engineered for perfection. They feature:
- Rafters – Made from heavy-gauge extruded aluminum, our rafters have corbels capping their ends and are 30 percent heavier to allow for larger spans.
- Columns & Beams – You’ll be able to choose from three types of columns (Roma, Florentine, and Venetian) and can upgrade them with decorative bases and caps. The beams feature corbels and large spans for clear views.
- Extruded Louvers – Like the rafters, our louvers feature extruded aluminum and are designed with a return lip to reduce post-rain dripping.
- Motors – The motor is what makes operating the louvers easy as can be. It’s a “slow motion” actuator that has 500-lb push/pull force. An electrical raceway also hides the power cable, ensuring your operable pergola will have a classic, streamlined look.
A Structure that Adjusts to Your Needs
Unlike traditional pergolas with fixed slatted roofs, L.J. Stone Co., Inc.’s louvered pergolas have movable roofs, which means you can control the amount of sunlight or shade you receive. When you want to enjoy sunshine and a vibrant sky, the structure functions as a true pergola. If the sun becomes too intense or a rainstorm hits, turn on a motor to close the pergola completely, forming a solid roof patio cover. Or you can adjust the louvers to any position in between!
The most important feature of an operable pergola is the motor, as you want to open and close the roofing panels as easily as possible. Our slow-motion actuator motors effortlessly open and close the roofing panels using a 500-lb push/pull force. The motor’s power cable is hidden inside an electrical raceway to give the structure a clean, streamlined appearance. And, with extruded louvers that have been designed with a return lip to channel rainwater, there’s no need to worry about post-rain dripping issues.
Our motorized pergolas are constructed from heavy-gauge extruded aluminum, which is much sturdier than roll-formed aluminum, vinyl, or wood. Plus, the powerful finish resists impact, rot, and insect infestation, providing you with a maintenance-free structure you can enjoy for decades.
